The S-SCSC-27 Pauses at Salt Lake City

After another day of hard labor, UP 1989-1996 pause for servicing at the Amshak depot in
downtown Salt Lake City. Friday's duties included a trip west to UP's new intermodal hub at
56th West and a journey north to the city of Woods Cross via the former D&RGW Ogden
mainline from North Salt Lake.

The OLS consist went through Grant Tower on Friday and was turned in the process. Now
the Rio Grande heritage unit faces east. Saturday's Operation Lifesaver duties include a
mid-morning trip to Provo, returning to SLC after lunch. The two Budd cars are to be tacked
to the rear of Amtrak #5 for a trip to Emeryville, CA. The SD70's will likely head east on the
MPVNY (UP 1989) to Denver and west on the MRORV (UP 1996) to Roseville.
